Canadian Web Hosting has successfully completed a SAS 70 Type II and CICA 5970 Type B
audit. These auditing statements were developed to allow an independent auditor to review
the controls established by a service organization and to ensure that the controls are valid
and enforced. Through this audit, Canadian Web Hosting's documented controls and internal
control environment were thoroughly tested including processes and policies that ensure
compliance and consistency with the documented controls. The SAS 70 Type II and CICA 5970
Type B audit provide assurances that Canadian Web Hosting customers are in secure, reliable
and effective operating environments that have the proper controls for Internet operations and
highly available IT services. This includes datacenter security, customer security, data storage,
access and security.
CICA 5970 is a Canadian standard administered by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. Designation under this program encompasses specific requirements for service providers managing customer data and focuses heavily in the areas of compliance, security and access. In addition, this certification addresses the topics of backup and recovery, computer operations and facility infrastructure.
The Auditing Standards Board of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) issues the SAS 70 to service organizations that typically offer outsourced services. An auditor's report details the ability for a service provider's ability to offer adequate controls and safeguards when they host or process data belonging to their customers.
As a service organization, Canadian Web Hosting can issue a copy of the audit report to user organizations to verify our processes and procedures (controls) are adequate for their web hosting, VPS, dedicated Server or Cloud Hosting needs. With this report, customers will no longer need to perform their own audits. An independent auditor has completed Canadian Web Hosting?s audit and any potential biased has been removed from the reports.
